Grand Belish

The hotel’s own beach is a real plus, and I’d also recommend the Turkish bath. Manager Selim and his team of therapists were superb. The 90-minute program includes an authentic Turkish bath, a professional relaxing massage and a facial mask. It costs 60 US dollars, which is hard to beat. Most of all, I appreciated how warmly and attentively they cared about how I felt during the treatment. If you stay at Grand Belish Resort Hotel and Spa, don’t miss the Turkish bath offered by Selim and his team.

There isn’t much in the way of facilities, shops or places to walk outside the hotel grounds. Still, I liked how peaceful and relaxing it was. The staff were friendly, the room was spacious, and everything was clean, which was enough for a comfortable stay. It’s right by the seaside and has a fairly large swimming pool.

Ozden, the guest relations manager, is always kind and helpful, and I really love the cats around the hotel. I've stayed here many times, including on my own, and always felt safe. I'll definitely come back next year.

The worst moment was our “A la carte” dinner on the 5th floor, where we found a live cockroach in a salad. Staff said it had “fallen from the ceiling.” The beach was dirty and poorly kept, with old umbrellas that barely shaded one sunbed and cheap, uncomfortable loungers. The rooms weren't awful, but they were below standard: the fridge didn't work, and the walls had scratches, cracks, holes, and cobwebs. Wi-Fi kept dropping, and the food was repetitive with very little choice. We arrived at 4 AM, but staff wouldn't take our luggage because bags from guests leaving the next day were already there. They called it “the policy,” which made a terrible first impression. We couldn't get a room until 12:30 PM, so we sat in the lobby and slept on the couches and chairs. Other arrivals got rooms and wristbands right away, and staff handled their bags. When I asked why, reception told me those guests had been there since the day before, which was plainly untrue. Most staff barely spoke English and were rude to guests. For a hotel calling itself five-star, this was deeply disappointing. This place deserves no more than three stars. I've seen other reviews describe the same problems, but nothing has changed despite the empty promises of improvement. The prices are far too high for this level of service.
