All the shops and cafes are close by, and it’s an easy walk to the sea. The staff are friendly, and it’s a quiet place. There’s no breakfast, but you can cook for yourself. This suited me as an inexpensive, peaceful place to stay. You can keep room costs down and put the money toward entertainment instead. The price for what you get is very good. It’s not the sort of all-inclusive hotel with a pool, parties, and crisp, starched linens. But if you want somewhere quiet and don’t want to spend $100 a night, you could stay here.

Even with the reasonable price, our stay was a really bad experience. I’m not sure whether going outside peak season had anything to do with it, but the rooms seemed as if nobody had been in them for months. The hallway smelled awful, and the rooms were dusty and uncleaned. The pillows and duvet smelled too. The bathroom was very old and dirty.

It was the cheapest pension in the area for the season, so we slept there and carried on. For the price, it’s fair to respect the service they provide. The quiet surroundings meant we could get eight hours of rest. We were in the smallest room, and couldn’t open the window because the headboard got in the way. There was just one charger outlet, so we took turns charging our phones. The air conditioner was right over one of the beds, and I was worried I’d get sick if I turned it on. The bathroom felt like a historic relic, and the showerhead was clogged with limescale. We saw the neighboring guests get two thin slices of white cheese, five olives, four tomato slices, and one egg. So it was probably a good thing we didn’t include breakfast in the price. For value, though, it was very good.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the air conditioning cooled the room well. The location is near the sea, Zeus Cave, and the national park. The price is cheap. We couldn’t sleep because of mosquitoes. The sheets were clean, and the pillows were okay, though we always bring our own. July 18, 2024.
