Sentinus Beach Hotel

The room never had properly hot water. The shower was usually cold and only occasionally lukewarm. Dining was frustrating too: breakfast had no cereal or toast, so my daughter was left with just bread and butter, and dinner dishes sometimes ran out while the buffet was still open and service was only halfway through. The food selection was very poor. Tables and glasses weren't cleaned properly, and once there was ash in a drink we were served. WiFi was unreliable throughout our stay. We booked through Love Holidays expecting a four-star standard, but the hotel fell far short of what had been advertised.

The food was bland, repetitive, and seemed stale, while the bar was often out of stock. There was no suitable food for vegans, vegetarians, or people with allergies. Many guests, as well as people in our party, reportedly became ill, so I thought the risk of food poisoning was high and food hygiene seemed neglected. The pool tiles stayed soaked, and several people slipped and fell; the hotel did nothing about it. I also saw reports of guests witnessing child abuse by other holidaymakers, with staff and management turning a blind eye. That was horrifying and disturbing. Our room, bathroom, and shared spaces were filthy and neglected. Cleaning standards seemed nonexistent, and doors, air conditioning, toilets, and furniture were broken or falling apart. It felt like a health hazard. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and barely spoke English. I wouldn't consider this safe or suitable for children, people with disabilities, or anyone expecting basic care. The place claims to be four-star, but it should be rated zero. Positive reviews online seem outdated or made up. It's unsafe, unsanitary, and unethical, and I urge travel agencies and booking platforms to reconsider listing it. Please don't book here. You could be putting yourself and your family at risk.

My mother, sister, and I ended up in hospital with food poisoning from the hotel. My father and brother also had diarrhea and vomiting. The plates and cutlery weren't washed properly, the food wasn't fresh, and at lunch I even saw rotten tomatoes on display. The room was okay, I guess, but the bathroom was dirty and the water came out brown. It was the worst vacation ever. For your own health, don't stay here. This experience has made me never want to return to Turkey.

The lobby restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week and was unusable. The hotel smelled of smoke, with no one explaining what was happening, and there was no entertainment, just music by the pool during the day. Elevators were painfully slow. Some staff were friendly, but most seemed unenthusiastic and rarely smiled when helping. I also tried to use the laundry bag with the hotel logo. I prepared my laundry and asked three staff members about service, but they said it wasn't available. When I asked what the bag was for, they seemed surprised. Two said they'd check and get back to me, but nobody did. I booked an all-inclusive Friday-to-Friday stay for 7nights through On the Beach, even though we'd seen the reviews and thought it couldn't be that bad. I'd sent the hotel four emails after booking and got no reply. Then on Monday I found an envelope saying our OTB reps meeting had been on Saturday. Check-in itself was fine. The room was old and cleaning was poor: cleaners came and went until 2 pm, and it was a different person each time. Food was alright but choices were limited, and you had to arrive early because things often ran out. For a stay in Turkey, basics were missing: no simit, pide, butter, ayran, cereal, and fruit was only one type every couple of days. Even Turkish tea and coffee cost extra despite the all-inclusive label. Drinks were limited to beer, gin, and vodka, and even those were flat and watered down. I've been to Turkey about 20 times and Kusadasi twice, and this was easily the most disappointing visit. The hotel seems to be falling apart, more like a one-star place than four. Avoid it!
