Aroma Butik Hotel

There’s a lovely sunset to watch over dinner, and the food is pretty good. The hotel is close enough to the sea and has what you need. I stayed in a bungalow, though the sound insulation was poor and it got chilly at night. Turning on the heater fixed that. I’d heard complaints about the owner playing loud music, but it wasn’t very loud for me and didn’t cause a problem. The awkward part is the location. It’s in the middle of nowhere, with a decent walk to the nearest shops. There’s another store across the highway if you’re brave enough to cross. Still, I liked the hotel and will come back next time I’m in Turkey. At this price, I have little to complain about.

The music was still blaring from a loudspeaker until 11 p.m., ruining any chance to relax. At 10:30 tonight I asked staff to turn it down, and two of them laughed at me. Out of frustration, I went to lower the speaker myself. A staff member physically attacked me and pushed me. This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me at a hotel. I’ll alert the tour operator and local authorities. Please avoid this place. My first night was in a box room with no hot water or internet. Neither mobile data nor Wi-Fi worked. On the second night I was moved to a bigger room, but there was still no hot water and the toilet smelled of sewage. There are no fridges or kettles in the rooms. Across all seven nights, I only had hot water once, despite asking staff repeatedly to fix it. They get annoyed when you ask for help. The food was gross and there was almost no choice. They served a plate of food that was hard to identify, then a depressing evening buffet of barely edible things like hot dog stew and lots of cauliflower. At breakfast, don’t expect a toaster or butter. I booked full board, but drinks weren’t included, not even bottled water. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. To reach the only minimarket nearby, you have to risk crossing a busy motorway.

The kitchen was well organized and the staff there were very kind. The chef did what he could with the budget, and the hotel's location suited us because it was away from the busy tourist areas. It’s close to the beach, has a lovely view, and is also near the main road. That road was noisy and felt dangerous. A rental car might be useful for exploring further. Our stay got off to a bad start when we were shown a moldy room by the pool, which we rejected. A second room with a sea view came with an extra charge, which we also declined. After some discussion, they let us have that room without paying more. Room service was rarely around, and hygiene needs serious attention. We had bedbugs. The air conditioning worked, but the TV didn’t, and there was no fridge in the room.

We planned to stay ten nights, but couldn’t even make it to the third. The owners were very rude, and their brand-new cars were parked conspicuously outside reception. Our cabin had no fridge, long mirror, or hot water, and its jacuzzi didn’t work. The food was horrible, with little choice and flies all over it. Nobody helped when we needed it. Cheap, but still not worth it. A horrible experience, don’t go here.
