Cesars Side

The sea was so warm I didn’t want to get out, and the food had a delicious range of fruit and desserts. We spent a week at Caesar hotel in mid-September, with perfect weather. The staff were polite, attentive, and hardworking, and the rooms were clean.

We wouldn’t return, mainly because of the food. It began reasonably well, but from the second day the same limited choices kept coming back each night. Lunch and snacks were better than breakfast and dinner, and much of the food was bland, undercooked, or overcooked. It seemed geared more toward Russian guests. I’d rate this around 3 or 3.5 stars, not five. We’d just come back from a week there. The guests were mostly Russian, with quite a few Germans and Polish visitors. The hotel didn’t seem set up for British guests, and most staff didn’t speak English, though they were polite and tried to help. We were told British visitors had only been coming to Antalya for the past five years. The hotel was clean, rooms were cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided. The pools were great, and the private beach was an easy walk away. Our annex room was a walk from the dining area and could be noisy at times.

This was the worst holiday of my life, and I can’t understand how the hotel has five stars. The room was old-fashioned and very dirty, and the employees were unfriendly. The food was poor, repetitive, tasteless, and boring. I got food poisoning, and the doctor who treated me said the hotel food was very low quality. We came as a group of 21, and more than half of us became ill from the food. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The sea and beach were lovely, and the housekeeping and front desk staff were very polite and helpful. The other staff were pleasant too. But many of our family across two rooms had diarrhea and vomiting, which was especially hard with young children. I chose not to share photos of it because they were too shocking. One day there was vomit beside the lift, so perhaps others were ill too. The restaurant was full of flies, landing on the uncovered food and on the tables. I squashed six flies at our table during each meal. The coffee was poor, and the Nescafé counter only opened part of the time. One of the juice dispensers gave me an electric shock. We won’t be going back.
