I made a booking, but the place was closed when I arrived. The owner didn’t answer the phone, so I had to switch to another hotel. Very bad.

This has been my worst experience in Turkey so far. I booked through Expedia, but when I arrived, the staff said there was a flood problem with my room. They could have contacted me by phone or email instead of waiting until I got there to say I couldn’t stay. They offered to send me to another hotel, which sounded fine at first. But it wasn’t really a relocation: they wanted me to pay again for the more expensive hotel before canceling the reservation I’d already paid for. I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with Expedia to get a refund, and I don’t know why the hotel didn’t handle that. I was exhausted, so I agreed to stay at the other hotel, only to find they accepted cash only and I had none with me. I ended up looking for somewhere to stay on my own at night, carrying my luggage.

I felt at home in this magical hotel during my holiday. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the staff gave us really nice service. Thanks for everything. I’ll recommend the hotel to my friends who want to visit Mardin.

I spotted the hotel on Booking and thought its location and look would suit my trip, so I stayed a few days. The staff were very smiley and friendly, and the traditional Mardin breakfast was amazing. Thanks for everything. I hope to see you next year.
