We went during the opening of the Biennial, so the hotel had plenty of life, yet it was still calm enough when I needed a breather. Shops and restaurants are all close by, thanks to the central location. For my first trip to Mardin, Engin Bey and his team made our four-day stay a great experience. They were consistently helpful and cordial, and he even put us in touch with the right people to arrange a tour of the sights outside and around Mardin. I hope to visit again someday!

We got a lot of help from the friendly hotel staff, especially Mr. Şerif, who was a great help with the airport shuttle. Many thanks to him. The rooms were very clean, with a lovely layout, harmonious colors, and patterned carved wood. One room even had a Turkish bathroom inside. The hotel sits right in the center of the archaeological site in the beautiful old town of Mardin. We could walk all around the old town, and the terrace offered a magnificent view over Mesopotamia. Mardin Artuklu University’s application is near the hotel.

My room, 107, looked onto a courtyard and was wonderfully quiet. The location is hard to beat, and breakfast had a good spread. I arrived without a booking because I wasn’t happy with my previous choice. There were some heating problems and the corridor lighting at night needed attention, but those were dealt with right away. All in all, a pleasant stay. Recommended.
