The price was good, the place was pretty clean, and communication with the staff was good. WiFi was bad and there was no breakfast. It was an okay stay overall. Be aware of the “tour guide” associated with the hotel. If you take a tour with him, agree on a price beforehand. He asked for 2000 TL for a bit of driving, and I managed to negotiate it down to 500 TL afterwards. Make of that what you will. I also had to pay on the spot for his broken tire because he said he didn’t have a card with him, and I never got that money back. The whole thing felt pretty sketchy to me.

The hotel rooms have a cool, relaxing feel and a magnificent view. It’s truly an incredible place, and you’ll love it.

The hotel is new, and the staff don’t yet seem able to work well together because they’re inexperienced in this business.

I regret paying the deposit and booking this place. I’d read the reviews and didn’t expect much, since I only planned to sleep there and spend two days exploring Mardin. I wasn’t counting on a shower, breakfast, or a view. Still, the regret started as soon as I walked in. This isn’t really a hotel. It’s a fifth-rate place run by three young people, with seven rooms that look nothing like the pictures they sent. There was no face towel, toilet paper, or duvet, just nothing. It was incredibly dirty, and construction mortar kept falling from the ceiling onto the bed. I woke up with it in my hair. When I asked for a duvet, they gave me one without a sheet. When I asked for a towel, they said they had clean ones, but they were stained. The place was below average, and the stairs were so bad I nearly fell and broke something. It’s at the very bottom of 1st Street, so walking back and forth is exhausting. We booked two rooms in advance so we’d have somewhere to stay and wouldn’t end up in a bad situation. We shouldn’t have. The only good thing I can say is that the owner’s brother was kind to us as a person, though I don’t know how much that helps. You may need him when booking, then never see him again. I suspect the people who left positive reviews didn’t actually stay there. Don’t go! Don’t go! Don’t go! Or go see for yourself, like I did.
