Albatros Apartments

Don’t miss Turkish night. The food and entertainment were incredible, and we really enjoyed the themed evening. The service and food were outstanding, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I loved how clean and clear the pool was. We’ve only got two days left and I’m gutted, but I can’t thank the staff enough for a good stay.

The pool area was lovely and kept clean and tidy, and the bar staff were fine, but they didn’t keep track of bills well. They’d forget who had paid, and once told us we owed for drinks from the previous day when we hadn’t even had drinks then. That led to an argument among the staff. The location is a fair walk from the beachfront and marina, though not too bad if you want nightlife. I’ve been to Marmaris for more than five years, but this time I was really disappointed by how expensive everything had become. At reception the woman couldn’t understand what I was saying, then we had to pay £35 for a week of air conditioning. There was no safe in the room, only one outside by reception doors, and I didn’t like that they had a master key. It was a bad start. In the apartment we found two single beds instead of a double, and no door separating the living room where my friend stayed, so nobody had privacy. The bathroom was disgusting, with only cold water in the shower. The shower head wouldn’t stay up, there were holes in the roof that let in daylight, and a hole in the shower tray drained water along the tiles to a drain. Towels were only provided every three days. We left ours outside for collection but got no replacements, so we had to ask using Google Translate on my phone. The air conditioner on the balcony leaked onto the tiled floor every day, leaving puddles and a slip hazard. There were hardly any cooking facilities, just a plug-in hob, kettle and fridge. We had two power cuts because the apartment cables were burning out illegally. Reception staff were unhappy that we didn’t want housemaids in the room with our personal belongings inside. Several times they asked to come in to check if it was clean and the equipment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It made our holiday uncomfortable in every way, and I definitely wouldn’t book here again.

The room was basic, but clean and all we needed for sleeping and showering. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough, from bringing food and drinks to running errands for people who needed things from the pharmacy. The pool area was clean and tidy, with comfortable sun loungers. I’d definitely come back.

The bar and food area staff were friendly and helpful, though the flies were a shame. The rooms were very dated, and the bathroom was unhygienic. Cooking utensils and facilities were dirty and neglected, and the bedding was poor, old, ripped and creased. Sorry, but I wouldn’t go back. I’ve heard it’s closing down.
