Blue Bay Style Hotel

The location is handy, close to the sea and all the shops, and the staff are very nice. The reception has been renovated, but the rooms still feel quite old. They were fine for a few nights.

The rooms were great, kept spotless by a lovely housekeeper, and the staff and entertainment were both great. The day’s extra activities, like table tennis tournaments, water aerobics and darts, made the holiday more interesting. Big thanks to the entertainment organiser for that! There’s a private beach about a two-minute walk away, shared with Blue Bay Platinum. Drinks cost extra there, but they’re really good, especially the frozen cocktails. The food was fantastic with loads of choice. Some dishes weren’t labeled, though, so my vegetarian partner had to be careful. We had a great time, even better than we expected.

I was supposed to stay at Blue Bay Style for a week, but booked a flight home after three nights. The room wasn’t the one I’d booked through the travel agent. When I asked to speak to the manager, the man at reception told me to come back at 11 the next morning. I did, but there was no manager, and they told me to try again the next day, then the day after. I asked several times and kept getting brushed off. The staff couldn’t really understand English either. I paid for a week-long all-inclusive package, plus a lot more, just to get away from this hotel. Avoid at all costs!

The gym is small but has everything essential, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. Cocktails at the pool bar were marvelous, and the restaurant and pool bar staff worked brilliantly. The reception, restaurant and pool bar all look luxurious, but I can’t say the same for the rooms. They feel very old, and the air conditioning set to 16° worked more like a fan. It was 39°C during the heat wave, but I still expected it to work properly. You only get one keycard for the room, which could be a problem. They also charge 20 pounds for a safe. Unfortunately, I can’t say the reception staff were as good as the others.
