The spot looked far from everything on Google Maps, and I was unsure after reading some reviews before booking. But the stay turned out to be one of the best I’ve had. The rooms were clean and tidied every day, the pool was good and my kids loved it, and it never felt too crowded or like a fight for sunbeds. The staff were so friendly, and the food was nice, especially the Sunday carvery. There’s a park right behind the hotel that my youngest loved, and bars and restaurants are close by. The dolmuş stops outside and goes straight into Marmaris. I really can’t think of anything bad to say. We can’t wait to come back.

The room doors wouldn’t lock, and there were cameras or sensors in the rooms. Reception staff seemed unable to understand English and were rude and unwelcoming. They made a lot of noise in the lobby in the early hours. When we asked to move rooms, we were told to leave if we didn’t like it, so we had to book another hotel.

I’ve stayed here for the past three years, and the staff are always lovely and pleasant. They go out of their way to look after guests. I’ll keep staying here whenever I come to Marmaris.

The bathroom always smelled of urine, no matter how much we tried to clean it, and the TV was rubbish. Our windows wouldn’t close, the air conditioning was poor, and the Wi-Fi was awful. Some staff were okay, but the rest were awful, and some tried to sleep with guests. The pool was bad, the slide was often switched off, and it closed early, so the kids couldn’t enjoy themselves. I left £200 hidden in the room because I thought it was safe after putting up the sign asking cleaners not to enter. The money was stolen. When we asked them to check the cameras, it took hours and they wouldn’t let us see them. The manager said theft never happens, but I’d seen other reviews. They gave passport details to random people, and staff all had keys to every room. The manager on duty from day one was awful and rude. Locals told us this place had a bad reputation too. I’ve always loved Marmaris, but this stay changed that.

For a family of four with teenage kids, it was unpleasant to have a Turkish waiter, sorry, entertainer gyrating his hips and waiting on my wife and young daughter. Around the pool, cleanliness was poor, with glasses, cups, and broken glass or thick plastic left about. There was no lifeguard on duty, and people were allowed to get away with outrageous behaviour. Room cleaning was hit or miss, sometimes good, other times it looked like nothing had been done. Everyone seemed quick to leave tip envelopes. Treat us with respect and service, and we’ll spend our money. The safe is a metal lockbox system at reception, where the master key is left hanging up. We used it and our belongings were safe, though there had been lots of thefts from other guests’ rooms. Air conditioning, the safe and internet all cost extra. We managed without the air conditioning because of the weather, but the windows couldn’t be opened for fresh air until the music stopped around 1 am. The internet wasn’t expensive, but it was poor. I’d get a free Wi-Fi code from one of the bars in or around the hotel instead, where the signal was better. It’s about a 25-minute walk to BLUEPORT, which was a nice area for shopping. We took a scenic route to avoid the crazies on the main strip, where men from every bar and restaurant hassle you. Taxis were about 300 Turkish. The nightlife seemed to kick off around 8:30 pm, with loud, in-your-face chaos. Golden Orange, sorry, we won’t be back. Some staff were very nice, while others need to understand their customers better and improve their service. The MOROCCAN waiter was the best, a real “GOLDEN boy” in my opinion. And for a three-star hotel, who gave it that rating, a blind man with a dog? Crazy.
