Maxwell Holiday Club

This was the worst stay I've ever had. I spent nine days in these apartments last week, and the place was filthy. I had diarrhea for five days after eating the food, which seemed rotten. A couple of the bar staff were fairly friendly, but the receptionist and manager were extremely rude, to me and to two other guests. Guests around the pool were all complaining that the place wasn't fit for a dog. The bar was overpriced, at £8 for vodka and lemonade, and they added extras to our bill. The manager at reception insisted I pay my sister's bill even though she'd already paid. When I refused, explaining that she had settled it, he had a stick in his hand and threatened me. I felt so intimidated that I called the police. He banged the stick and shouted that I couldn't stay at the resort, even though I still had two days left, unless I paid a bill that wasn't mine. It left me traumatised. Everything felt like a rip-off, and I'd never stay there again.

The location was good, within walking distance of the beach, and the staff were friendly. But the apartment was dusty and dirty when we arrived, including the toilet, with rubbish under the beds. I had to buy cleaning products and clean it myself. The walls were dirty too. The bathroom glass kept coming loose, the TV didn't work, and the only wardrobe was missing handles and hanging hooks. We stayed for two weeks in a two-bedroom apartment with five people. There were just two plastic plates, two teacups and one pan, though they gave me extra plastic plates when I asked. We were charged £50 per air conditioner per week, so we paid £200 on arrival. One unit didn't work, but they wouldn't refund that charge. The waterslide only ran for 30 minutes at 11am and another 30 minutes at 3pm, not all day. WiFi was free by the pool, but cost £1 per device per day in the apartment. We were very disappointed and won't return.

Jane and her spa team made my stay at Maxwell Holiday Club feel special from the start. They welcomed me with warm smiles and really wanted everything to go well. Jane paid close attention, asked what I needed, and tailored the spa services to suit me. The treatments were heavenly, and I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The facilities were clean, tranquil, and well maintained. Everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. I highly recommend Maxwell Holiday Club's spa, especially Jane and her fantastic team, for a relaxing experience with top-notch service. I can't wait to return.

The staff made me uncomfortable and I didn't feel safe as a young woman staying alone in a room, while my family were in another. At first the hotel put them in an entirely different block, and we had to ask for them to be moved closer. One staff member was especially creepy, following me and other guests around the hotel. Less than 12 hours after we arrived, he was trying to get my social media details. Whenever he heard my door open, he would start following me as I went to meet my family. After a day of shopping, another staff member asked my family and me what we were doing there, saying he hadn't seen us at the bar and didn't think we were guests. He pressured us to spend money at the hotel and was rude because we didn't. None of us drink alcohol, and we didn't want to do karaoke until 3am. When we left, the rude staff member didn't help with our cases at all, but stood there asking for a tip. He'd only checked us in at the start of the week and wasn't happy we hadn't tipped him. The kitchen had so little equipment, just a kettle, a single-ring hob, and a few cups, that we ate out every night and ran out of money quickly. The room wasn't cleaned each day, and the towels looked dirty even when we got replacements. I'd leave my used towels in a pile for the cleaners, but they'd hang the dirty ones back up. There wasn't enough toilet roll, so we bought our own, and we didn't get fresh bed sheets during the stay. The shower was grimy, the floors were dirty, and there was exposed electrical wiring. Music and parties went on until 2 or 3am, and I didn't get one good night's sleep in the seven nights I was there. It was too hot to sleep with the balcony door shut, while air conditioning cost £70 a week per person. The TV, WiFi, and safe also cost extra. We spent the whole holiday out of the hotel and only returned to sleep because of its condition and the staff's attitude. This was my first holiday to turkey, and sadly this place ruined it for me. I won't be back.
