We booked this little family-run hotel for its location, then found it was a real gem. The atmosphere around the clean pool was lovely, and we spent most days there with the other guests. The food was fantastic, and the drinks were good and very reasonably priced. Everyone on staff was so friendly and did all they could to make sure we were having a good time. The rooms are basic, but a decent size. They were cleaned daily and came with fresh towels. We were there for nearly two weeks and have already decided to book again for next year. The beds were comfortable, but the rooms were very basic and we were lucky to get a warm shower. Nobody told us what was available for breakfast, so we had to work out where the tea was ourselves. Luckily, other guests who'd been there longer helped us figure it out.

Cemal makes lovely food. I'd especially recommend the Ottoman kebab, casseroles and steaks. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the staff sort out any problems straight away. I felt safe and could trust them. Cemal, Ali and Danny are especially helpful and friendly, always happy to chat. The location is great, close to everything, but the staff make it hard to want to leave. For the price, I think this is the best hotel you can get in Marmaris. I'd definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was a waste of the extra money we paid to have it included. Every day it was boiled eggs, cucumber, tomato, olives and cold bread, with no toaster, and they don't allow you to bring your own food. The manager wouldn't acknowledge our problems and just walked away while we were talking. Wi-Fi cost around £30 extra, and the free connection only worked downstairs by the bar or pool, not in the rooms. They also charged £49 for a week of air conditioning, which wasn't made clear when we booked. I'm disappointed with 'On the Beach' for not explaining that. The noise was another big problem. Music from this hotel and the one next door went on until 1 or 2 a.m., so my four children couldn't sleep properly. We had two rooms, and both bathrooms were horrible, with broken parts and tiny showers. Neither room was cleaned until I asked on the third morning. We read the reviews and saw some positive ones, but I don't understand what those guests were happy about. We'll never stay there again. It doesn't deserve any stars.
