Grand Altundağ Hotel

I like the hotel and the service was okay, but the Wi-Fi wasn't good.

Really good.

The location wasn't great, with car garages nearby and engines revving throughout the day. I waited more than 1.5 hours because they assumed I was there for work, even though I said on the phone and again when I arrived that I was on vacation. The room had dust bunnies and yellow marks inside the closets. The TV didn't work, and the air conditioning smelled bad when switched on. Wi-Fi had been promised over the phone, but they said it worked only sometimes when I got there. In reality, there was no connection in the room or at reception. The bathroom had long men's hairs and other people's remains in the toilet, and two metal bars stuck out near the bathroom, making them easy to hurt yourself on. Even the doorbells were stained, dirty, and untidy. I left after 10 minutes, but they still charged me for the day despite my pointing out the stains around the room. This felt like a 2-star place to me, not a 4-star hotel. I wouldn't recommend it. I moved to Merada Suite Hotel, paid a little more, and got a much better deal.

Breakfast was awful: the room was hot, stuffy, and dusty, and the tomatoes and cucumbers smelled moldy. The carpets were dirty and full of dust, and the minibar cabinet was filthy. It sat in the middle of a narrow room, with bits sticking out so badly that you could seriously bump into it. There was nothing in the minibar, which was probably a good thing. The toilet and sink were crammed together so tightly that sitting down was difficult, and two metal bars protruded in the bathroom and looked capable of causing serious injury or even death. The rooms felt airless, and the air conditioning didn't cool them. Wi-Fi never worked, whatever they might tell you. The place is hard to find with navigation, tucked among industrial sites and houses, though the entrance looks nice at first. They seem to have tried for an avant-garde look, with an antique phone and hairdryer that don't work properly. The price is reasonable, and the services match what you pay, but if you care about quality or hygiene, this isn't the place. Positive reviews must be from acquaintances or people with very low standards. No other explanation. Don't trust the reviews. I won't come back or recommend it.
