Teker Suite Hotel

Just the right place for a one or two day stay.

It’s a small hotel, but it has what you need, and it’s clean and nice. The staff are very attentive and kind to guests, and the security is well controlled, which matters a lot. If you’re in Mersin for work or a holiday, you should try Teker Suit Hotel. The owners are engineers who have moved into tourism. I really can’t recommend this hotel. I stayed for a month, and there were too many problems. I have evidence and got part of my money back through Airbnb. The biggest issue was the breakfast. It was included in the total price, but the owner said I wouldn’t get it because my Airbnb booking had a 40% discount. There was no information saying discounted bookings excluded breakfast. In the end, Airbnb gave me a partial refund. He also suddenly asked me to pay for water and electricity. I’ve never had accommodation charge me this way. He assumed I used the air conditioning too much because I’d booked cheaply, before checking the actual amount. My bill came to 150, while the usual electricity amount was 500. The fitness center was very poor, with just one treadmill and a cycle, and no dumbbells or other machines. I went outside to run in the park and near the beach. The sauna wasn’t free either, though I can partly understand that. Cleaning was said to happen every three days, but they didn’t clean when I wanted, so I ended up doing it myself. There was also a language problem: none of the staff spoke English, and the owner wasn’t good at it either. His attitude made me feel like all he cared about was making money. He blamed every issue on the low price and said Airbnb had set the discount, even though he had accepted it. When I asked who had listed the hotel and chosen the discount on Airbnb, he said he didn’t know and that Airbnb had done it. Then he told me I had to pay the extra fees and wouldn’t get breakfast. That exchange left me feeling like he was just brushing everything off and blaming Airbnb.

The room was amazing, and the staff were really friendly. Such a nice place.
