The road to the resort was a nightmare, especially at night. It’s a narrow two-way street by the shoreline with no streetlights, and every drive there was stressful. The rooms also need more maintenance. Having just one bathroom for a two-bedroom room was a real problem with my two teenage girls. We woke up to find ants covering both me and my wife, so I decided to leave the hotel at once. With the current road and room conditions, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Some parts of the resort were well cared for. Reception staff were wonderful and very helpful, the beach section was maintained nicely and had a stunning view. I toured the spa, which is small but very organized and well kept. The gym is small too, but has basic equipment: an exercise bike, treadmill, elliptical, a resistance machine, and a few dumbbells.

There wasn’t an entertainment team for adults or kids during my week there. A show ran at 9.30pm on a few nights, and the entertainment areas still seemed to need work as the hotel recovered from the pandemic. There’s a pool nearby, and the main complex sits right by the beach with beautiful sunset views. For a quiet break spent mostly sunbathing and self-catering, this place could work well. The apartment was tidy and very clean. Cleaning staff came by almost every day, and we had everything we needed. Reception were quick to sort out any problems with the property. The top balcony had a lovely view, but the walls were thin, so you could hear people eating or socializing at the table. For groceries, I’d suggest getting as much as you can in Arbuk. There are plenty of restaurants in town as well. The hotel’s mini market charged two or even three times what local shops did. Most drinks were expensive, and the cocktails felt like a rip-off, with hardly any alcohol in most of them. The restaurant food, though, was tasty and always freshly cooked. Spa treatments were fantastic, and there’s a basic gym if you want to work out. The staff were very nice and attentive, and I had a relaxing holiday. Prices for essentials and alcoholic drinks should come down to stay competitive. Some daytime entertainment would also help keep guests on site and improve the experience.

The summer rate felt a little high to me, and there aren't many amenities. Still, the houses are spacious, fully equipped, and have good internet. The beach is close, the restaurant is good, and the staff seem to be doing their best. There’s a taxi stand right at the entrance.

Akbuk is easy to reach by public bus, though buses aren’t very frequent. The fare is 20 TRL each way per person, and reception can give you the timetable. The beach is very close, and there are lots of pools to escape the heat, including a slide pool the kids, and even adults, can enjoy. We had an excellent stay.
