Jiva Beach Resort Fethiye

The room was the main drawback for us. We were above the café and nightclub, so noise carried on late and disturbed our sleep. The bed and pillows were a little uncomfortable too, and we both had neck pain at times. Even so, the lovely location, food, and facilities would make us consider coming back. Jiva Beach has a wonderful stretch of beach for the hotel, and we liked the pools, including the heated outdoor pool and the one in the spa. Every buffet meal and restaurant meal we had was enjoyable. The snack restaurant became a favourite and always felt like a special treat. Our Al Le Cart meal was delicious. The portions seemed small, but filled us up nicely. The only thing we missed was being able to get ice cream in our room or by the pool.

I’ve been here six days of an eight day stay, and the staff have been outstanding throughout the hotel. They’re really lovely. The entertainment has also been excellent, a 10 out of 10. The karaoke and the African singers were great. One pool is warm, but the others are freezing, especially for children and elderly guests. The food needs attention. It’s very basic and repetitive, with little that stands out. The van on the beach was the exception, the food there was very, very nice. Dinner on the rooftop was a letdown. I ordered lamb shank and it was vile, mostly fat, with one small carrot, one small aubergine, and a porridge-like base. There wasn’t much choice on the menu either. I asked for extra mash with the lamb, but it came cold and lumpy on a side plate. Afterwards I got a cold cup of English tea with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I had to go to Lucca cafe for cake and hot tea. I spoke to people who’ve returned a few times, and they said the food was a letdown this year too. It should be different each day, with more options for picky eaters. Aside from that, the holiday was excellent all around, and I’d definitely come back.

The only little gripe was seeing sunbeds left with towels on them for hours, with nobody using them. Come on, management, clamp down on that. Everything else was faultless for us: amazing food, immaculate rooms, and fantastic service from all the staff. Ordering from the beach with the QR code was easy and quick. The location’s good, and it’s a lovely walk to Calis. You don’t really need to leave the hotel to have a fabulous time.

The food and staff are both so good, and the beach bar with its entertainment makes the place even better. Sitting in the sun with a cocktail while listening to great singers feels like heaven. The coffee at the 24/7 bar is lovely; the restaurant only has machine coffee, but I can live with that. The spa and gym are very good for a hotel gym. This is our favourite hotel by far, and we’ve stayed in plenty.
