Vintage Cave House

We loved our cave room with its balcony. It was large, bright with natural light, and nicely decorated. Since it was on the ground floor, though, the balcony didn't have the view we'd hoped for. Like cave rooms generally, the bathroom can get a bit damp over time, but that's part of the cave experience. The hotel is right in the city center, close to restaurants and shops, and you don't have to climb a hill to get in, which was a big plus for me. Cappadocia is known for its viewpoints, and this place has a great one: the building rises vertically, so stairs lead to a pool and a glass-floor terrace with a stunning view. Breakfast had a good range of sweet and savory options, everything was fresh, and the dishes were kept full. The downside was that they only had instant coffee and cold milk, no freshly brewed coffee or hot milk. On our second day, a problem left us upset and cost us breakfast and the whole morning. When you're staying three days, losing half a day matters. The hotel staff, especially the manager, helped and got it sorted by early afternoon. Because of that, I can't give the top rating, though it deserves 4/5 stars. Beautiful hotel, nice location, amazing breakfast.

The room was fine and gave us the experience of sleeping in a cave. The view was stunning, and the staff were friendly and spoke perfect English. The pool was open and lit, but it was too cold for us to swim. We didn't manage to take a balloon flight, though we still had wonderful days at the hotel.

We liked this clean hotel a lot and will come back. It's in a great location, and Emir at reception was really helpful. Breakfast was good too. I'd recommend it to everyone.

From the minute I arrived, Shoe String Hotel felt welcoming and full of character. The team were kind, friendly, and helpful at every turn, whether they were sharing local tips, sorting out directions, or simply offering a smile. They looked after me like friends, and I can't thank them enough for making the visit so memorable. I'm already looking forward to returning.
