Viva Hotel Cappadocia

The noise was a big problem. You could hear people in other rooms throughout the building, and some guests smoking made the whole hallway smell of cigarettes. There’s a mosque nearby, so the call to prayer could be heard five times a day, starting at 4:30 am. The place wasn’t clean: the sofa and coffee table had glass stains, the kitchen wasn’t properly equipped for cooking, and the teapot was damaged. I asked the manager for a refund for the remaining days, but that wasn’t possible. I moved somewhere else and was very happy there. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re hoping for a good experience. The city also isn’t the most tourist-oriented.

The price felt right for the comfort, especially if you’re in Cappadocia. The owner welcomes you and walks you to your suite. It’s newly built, spacious, and designed beautifully, more like a luxurious one-bedroom apartment. I found it far more comfortable than a penthouse in a five-star hotel.

After long days of sightseeing, it was nice to come back and relax in these new suites, which are finished to a very high standard. There’s a fridge/freezer, gas hob, dishwasher, and washing machine. We didn’t use them since we were out all day and there are lots of restaurants nearby, but it was good to have them available if needed.

The only thing I’d improve is the kitchen equipment. There aren’t enough tools if you want to cook the same meals you’d make at home. Otherwise, it’s a really comfortable suite with a bedroom, bathroom, and living room with a kitchen, dishwasher, sofa, and TV. The washing machine in the bathroom is free to use. Staff respond quickly, though most of them don’t speak English.
