Destina Hotel

We’ve just come home after 2 weeks at Destina Hotel, which feels like a second home to us. We’ve been twice a year for several years and have made so many friends there. It feels like one big happy family, with guests coming back year after year. The owners and staff always make an effort to make the holiday special. Kermit is the life and soul of the place and is always ready to sort out any problems. The food is highly recommended, and the Chef is on hand for special requirements. We love this hotel and can highly recommend it.

I chose this hotel because of its good reviews, but after a week all inclusive in Oct, I definitely won’t be back. Disgusting. The room was tiny, with a double bed and a single bed squeezed in so there was barely room to move. It was the only clean area. The bar was a joke, with very limited alcohol and staff unable to make cocktails. The pool itself was nice, but the seating area was filthy and the tables were never cleaned. The dining room was filthy too, and the food was terrible apart from the soup. There were wasps everywhere.

The view was more than awesome, and I was satisfied and happy enough to visit again. The Turkish bath has been closed since covid and hasn’t reopened yet. The owner was friendly, chatted with us and checked that everyone was satisfied. Staff were friendly too. The pool was clean, with a ping pong table and billiards. Our room was clean and the utilities worked smoothly, including the TV, small fridge, hot water and air conditioner, though there were no kettles. Daily cleaning was provided. Breakfast had a huge, delicious range, and dinner was especially good, with fruit and desserts as well. I’m surprised to see reviews below 4 stars, since the place was more than satisfactory and had what we wanted from a hotel.

The garden and pool were nice, and it was cheap and a short taxi ride from hisaronu. It was clean, though not very clean. We stayed for 2 nights as part of a tour, but I wouldn’t choose it myself. Whether it suits you depends on what you’re after, though for me the downsides outweighed the good points. The room needs proper refurbishment. The toilet was broken and things seemed ready to fall apart wherever we touched. The food wasn’t tasty and the ingredients didn’t seem fresh. We could hear everyone next door, so it was very noisy, and there were hardly any toiletries. Drinks at dinner cost extra, though that may have been part of our tour agreement or the hotel’s general policy, so check.
