Fethiye Park Hotel

The room was reasonably clean, but breakfast was a joke and the service was very poor. At reception, two young men barely spoke English and seemed to lack basic manners from the start, laughing at clients, to put it mildly. One lovely woman from the kitchen was the only person during my stay who smiled at me and said something kind. Courtesy, helpfulness, even a simple smile matter in a hotel, and I didn't find those things here. I'd avoid this place if you have another option. The manager should work on the staff's morale.

Everything was fine apart from the male receptionist. While handling my reservation, he spoke mockingly about me in Turkish and laughed with another employee, apparently thinking I couldn't understand. The woman at reception was very friendly and always smiling, and I want to thank her.

The hotel's position in Hisarönü is handy, near a minibus stop for Belcekiz and the Blue Lagoon in one direction, or Fethiye in the other. Restaurants and places to eat are all around, and the main walking street has bars, souvenir shops, and groceries. Even so, we couldn't hear party noise from our room. We stayed from 24 July through 7 August. The building is clearly old but has been redecorated, and its former name was Fethiye Park Hotel. There's a pool with sun loungers and umbrellas. Breakfast was a strong point, more than a basic continental spread, with hot local dishes, cold appetizers, salami, sausages, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, and desserts. The chef often swapped a dish, which kept things varied. The room arrangements were a problem from the outset. We booked and paid on July 9, specifying two separate beds, but when we arrived on July 24 the manager couldn't provide the right room and sent us to a family room. The next day we were moved to a room with a poor view, a faulty air conditioner, and no Wi-Fi. A day later we got a ground-floor room. The signal there was full strength, but the internet was extremely slow. The floor had dirt, women's hair, and dead bugs. In general, Wi-Fi was only around 30-50 Kbps, even near the reception router, and some rooms got no wireless connection at all because of their location. I got so fed up that I had to buy an expensive eSIM. We stayed in that ground-floor room for the rest of our paid stay, but it had no towels. We used our own beach towels to dry off. Small face towels were available only at night because, the administrator said, the large ones had run out. It took another day to get body towels. The manager's promises and the check-in voucher said the room would get wet-cleaned daily, in line with international hotel standards. After several requests to the administrator, it was cleaned just once in 12 days. For several days, the cleaners also ignored the 'Please clean my room' card on the door. On that one visit, they changed the sheets and towels but left the floor and surfaces in both the room and bathroom dirty.

I usually don't leave reviews, but I can't accept this kind of business. The hotel is operating through what I believe are fraudulent bookings paid by VCC. As I understand it, they book through other travel agencies' accounts with credit limits, so they don't have to pay anything, then charge the suppliers' VCC when a non-refundable booking is made. When we contacted the hotel, they wouldn't offer any support. This hotel doesn't deserve even one star.
