The Wyspy Hotel

Safa was the person who made us feel welcome. She was kind and professional, and helped us find good local restaurants, places to visit and nearby services. The housekeeping team also did a good job after we reported an item left by a previous guest. They moved us to a better sea-view room, made it look lovely, decorated the bed and kept it very clean. The location is right in the city center across from the sea, with everything close by and free parking. Rooms were clean and stylish, though a little small, and breakfast was good. But empty plates weren’t cleared until the meal was over, which didn’t feel like 4-star service. Check-in was tense and disappointing: the receptionist (Y****a) wasn’t cheerful or welcoming, despite our confirmed booking and clear agreement about our child’s stay. We were moved from the floor we’d booked without an explanation. A few staff members came across as cold or dismissive, leaving us with the impression that Arab guests might not get the same warmth or attention as others.

The room was in poor shape, with old, uncomfortable furniture that didn’t meet what I’d expect of a four-star hotel. I stayed in August and, after mistakenly booking for one person despite reserving a double room, was charged almost half the room price extra at check-in. That pushed the total to around 40% above the original price. I think a charge like that should only cover breakfast, not a full additional cost. I was very disappointed and wouldn’t return.

The rooftop restaurant was really nice, with a good selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices, and the staff were friendly. I had a satisfying two-day stay in a clean, good-looking facility and room. The one card key was frustrating. You need it to use the elevator buttons, so it’s awkward when only one person has it. The stairs were locked and weren’t serving their purpose as an exit route, so that should be reviewed for better fire egress.

The Wyspy is our first choice whenever we visit Ordu. The amenities feel clean and premium, and the friendly staff are always great with their service. We’ve enjoyed our stays and hope to come back. Thank you.
