Caria Holiday Resort

The place had a great position, with sea views on one side and mountains on the other, when it was first built in 1994 as a timeshare property. It was soon turned into Amiga Park Club, then renamed Caria Resort Hotel after owner Nihat Akgün was killed in a mafia feud. The hotel continued operating, and timeshare owners could still stay, though people who originally had three months' rights were reduced to two weeks under the new arrangement, and so on. As far as I know, its tourism license was revoked in 2015, and the resort has since been left to decay. We still don't know what will happen to the rights of timeshare owners like us.

After places like this, you start to fall for Turkey. It's a hotel for young people, so you get the good and bad sides: lively animation and good food, but lousy alcohol and awful soundproofing. There's always movement around the pool, the staff are just average, and there are so many teenagers that after meeting them you might want to ask for a passport. Good luck!

Sarıgerme is shut down too, and the resort is basically left to decay. I don't know how the lawsuit will turn out, but restoring it looks very difficult. The timeshare owners shouldn't lose what they invested. This place used to be Amigapark, one of the early timeshare holiday concepts in Turkey, and sits on the slopes of Babadağ with architecture that fits the surrounding nature, sea on one side and mountain air on the other. Its operating license has been revoked. After changing hands and becoming Caria Resort, it couldn't stay viable, and the timeshare owners are the ones being left in a bad position.

Fine if you just need somewhere to sleep. If hygiene matters to you, avoid it. They may also surprise you with a room different from the one you booked.
