Bayraktepe Snow Hotel

The staff were all cheerful and helpful, and Mr. Talip was just as accommodating. The hotel is new, with very large rooms and new, clean beds, toilets, bathrooms, towels, and linens. The hotel provides transport to the ski center, with a vehicle available whenever you need one. The food was delicious, though the variety was more like what you'd expect from a boutique hotel. I was very satisfied overall. There were still paint drips on the floors and construction dust on the room mirrors, so the post-construction cleanup hadn't been done properly and could make you uneasy. Staff numbers seemed too low, with everyone doing everything, which made the place feel amateurish and far from professional, as if it had opened last week. The equipment for rent in the ski room was very new, which was nice, but it cost more than at other ski rooms.

We stayed four nights with our young child and felt right at home. The owner and staff were very attentive and answered all our questions straight away. Chef İsmail Bey was especially thoughtful: at breakfast he asked each of us what we wanted, then made it just for us.

The young employees were well intentioned, and the food was okay, but the hotel needs urgent inspection and the problems need fixing. It looks new, yet the workmanship is awful and construction still seems unfinished. The fire escape was locked. When I pointed that out, reception said they'd open it in an emergency. I asked what would happen if there were a fire, would someone come and unlock the escape instead of getting out? The recent disaster clearly taught them nothing, which is shameful. The elevators had red danger tags, so they seemed unsafe to use. I don't understand how the hotel got a license. Water poured from the faucet and shower in my room, and the plumbing kept dripping all night. The room was covered in dust even though everything outside was covered in snow. The bed was small and not clean, the wardrobe handle was broken, and there was no TV or kettle. The electrical work was terrible too, with crooked, loose sockets.

We spent the night of January 24th here. The shuttle to the ski slopes was useful, the staff were friendly, and our room was warm, spacious, and clean. The food was decent. But room 101 had technical problems that should have been caught: the phone for calling reception wasn't connected, with wires exposed and hanging from the socket, and the bathroom hairdryer socket was dangling about ten centimeters with its wires out. Neither TV had a satellite connection. A technician came, but after an exhausting hour of waiting we still don't understand how the room was handed over without an inspection.
