The beach was about 5 minutes away, and the market just 2-3 minutes. For such a fantastic location, the price was very reasonable. I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. I really recommend it, and hopefully we’ll come back.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious, nicely furnished, and clean throughout, and we were especially happy to find a pet-friendly place. Ms. Melahat was helpful with everything and pointed us toward the nicest sea in the area. Kaleiçi and the bazaar are a five-minute walk away, while the drive to the beach took 10 minutes.

We still had a pleasant time, and the location was handy, about a 10-15 minute walk from the castle. The room itself was clean, but the kitchen plates and cutlery couldn’t be used, so we had to buy our own. The washing machine didn’t work, and I never saw the reception person because they weren’t there. In one room, a tap beside the bed started leaking as soon as it was touched. The shower head sprayed forcefully from two spots and was painful. Only very hot, almost boiling water came from the kitchen tap, with steam coming off it, and there was no way to adjust the temperature. We struggled to do basic chores.

I went looking for another place after hygiene problems during my first stays in Sığacık, and found Teoshan Grandi. I liked it enough to come back 20 days later. The place is clean and comfortable, and I was especially glad to find spotless white curtains that are washed regularly. At many hotels and guesthouses, the curtains are dusty and smell unwashed. The castle is a 6 or 7-minute walk away, but for a quiet evening and a good night’s sleep, this is the place I’d pick.
