Mellow Blue Hotel

Mustafa’s friendly manner made us feel at home and added a lot to our stay. We had no problems, and the room was cleaned well. Shampoo and shower gels were provided. The garden has spots to sit and relax, and you can find pretty much everything nearby, including small shops and places to eat. Breakfast was fresh and prepared each morning, with really good choices, especially if you eat eggs and dairy as people often do in Turkey. The area is touristy, and bars and other places often have live music. Music is allowed until 1 a.m., but with the windows shut it didn’t bother us. It wasn’t an issue for us. If we come to Izmir again, we’ll most likely stay here. Special thanks to Mustafa!

Breakfast was generous, with fresh vegetables, cheeses, eggs, olives, jam, bread, and croissants. The owners were very kind. This small boutique hotel is in the heart of a pretty old town, with a lovely, quiet garden tucked away in the middle. The rooms are small but elegant, and our balcony looked onto the peaceful garden. We enjoyed sitting there late at night. I’d highly recommend this gem.

The Boho design is fantastic, with so much care in every little detail. Yes, the rooms are small, but they were enough for us since we spent the days at the beach or in restaurants and only came back to sleep. I also want to thank Şebnem Hanım for her hospitality. We couldn’t initially book the two nights we wanted, but she contacted us as soon as there was a cancellation, so we got to stay after all. I’d read some earlier reviews calling breakfast mediocre, but I disagree. I thought the serpme kahvaltı was very good, the kind you’d usually pay 1000tl for. We loved everything, and the stay was great.

We stayed in early October, after most tourists had left, and the old village inside the walls was strangely quiet. I can imagine how the whole place might be loud and lively in summer. The hotel itself is small, recently renovated, and clean. I wouldn’t return, though. Finding parking for our rental car outside the walls was difficult, then we had to carry our luggage over cobblestones. The room was tiny, the internet very slow, and the included breakfast was the same boring selection for all three days.
