Okan was lovely. After we left, he sent us a message from his mum thanking us, which was a sweet gesture. The view from the terrace was amazing, the beds were clean and comfortable, the shower was spacious with good pressure, and there was WiFi. Each roomy bedroom had its own bathroom, and our host was helpful and responsive. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery, though we couldn't find a sharp knife. The place had a warm, nostalgic feel, and cats visited every day. We fed them and left out water. We enjoyed our stay, but the property needs some care and updating, especially at £400 for four nights. There were quite a few problems. We found a worm on the floor of bathroom 1 when we arrived, and used toilet paper in its bin. The taps and shower there had limescale and rust. All the bathrooms smelled of sewage. The kitchen cupboards were greasy and dirty, so my aunt cleaned them, and there was a dead cockroach behind the cooker, which made us wonder when it had last been cleaned. One bedroom window had a broken handle and wouldn't open. There were smears on the mirrors and earbuds behind the living room cushions. A very bright terrace light had a plastic bag over it, the living room furniture felt old and uncomfortable, and there were several roof leaks. A smart TV would also be a welcome addition. The location is steep and hilly. You'll need a car and should be comfortable walking uphill, particularly if traveling with an older person, as we did.

Ali made sure every detail was taken care of and gave us a stay to remember. The place is spotless and beautifully decorated, almost as if it were brand new, and the view is breathtaking. We had a delicious, generous breakfast, too. It feels like stepping into a little paradise. Thanks for looking after us, Ali. We'll come back whenever we're in the area.

It's a bit of a walk from the center, but we liked seeing more of Selçuk along the way, and it was totally manageable. The view over town is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the whole guest house looks new. Breakfast was so good, and the host was kind and accommodating, offering us tea nearly every night. The room was lovely, but his gracious hospitality is what made the stay feel perfect. If I come back, I'll stay here again. Definitely recommend it.

Ali's PDF guide to Ephesus was useful when we visited, and most other sights are within walking distance. The last 50 m up to the property is a bit steep, but once you open the door, the great view and Ali's smile make you forget that quickly. Breakfast overlooking that view each morning is a lovely bonus. The place is even better than the photos, and Ali is a charming host, one of the best. Highly recommended!

I hurt my leg while visiting the ruins and couldn't walk. The owner promptly went out to get medicine and bandages, then took such generous care of me. When I had to change all my plans because of the injury, he also helped me book trains and hotels. I've never met anyone so wonderful. Meeting him alone made the trip to Turkey worthwhile. Thank you so much. The rooms, balcony, and breakfast were all great too. This was the best hotel I've ever stayed at.
