Ephesus Hitit Hotel

We came for the included lunch on 26 Sept during a Marella Cruise Gems of the Ancient Era TUI tour. The car park was packed with about 20 coaches, which didn’t seem promising. We were led into a huge dining room that felt like a school cafeteria. With no tables free, we waited 15 minutes before being seated. It was a buffet, but the chicken was cold, there was some cold pasta, and the rest of the very limited food wasn’t labeled, so I couldn’t tell what it was. Staff seemed rushed and stressed. At the table, a trolley brought one bottled beer per person. When someone in our group took a bottle of water from it, staff hurried over, then decided it was fine because we were on the TUI tour. Nobody I spoke with liked the food or the place, and no staff member asked how the meal was. TUI should seriously reconsider this stop, as it lets the tour down badly. I wouldn’t recommend it. Take a private tour of Ephesus and eat at a proper restaurant instead of somewhere that may be worse than modern school meals.

I didn't stay here, our tour group brought us for lunch. The food tasted awful, and I thought some of it might have gone sour. It felt like eating prison food. Great job, tour group, and salute to this restaurant.

There’s a good spread of traditional Turkish food at the Hitit Hotel in Selçuk, with grilled meats, fresh salads, and local dishes. The ingredients tasted fresh and the quality was decent, though a few dishes could use more seasoning. It’s a roomy, comfortable restaurant, and the friendly, attentive staff made the meal pleasant. The buffet costs a bit more than other local restaurants, but it’s a satisfying and convenient choice near Ephesus.

Stopped here for lunch. The food was warm and nice, but it was packed with tourists, so don’t expect much service.
