We had two lunches and one dinner here during our week. The food was honest Turkish cooking, done well, and the welcome felt friendly and family oriented. We even shared birthday cake with our hosts. It’s in a lovely spot by the waterfront, and we’d thoroughly recommend the restaurant for good food and a friendly atmosphere.

The food was delicious. Each meze seemed better than the last, and they surprised me with a beautiful, flavorful curry. In Turkey I often have no main dish option beyond veggie guvetch, so that was a great surprise. The staff were very kind, and people in our group who had eaten at Dantel before were happy too. We had reserved just for the restaurant as a group. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the long wait for the main dish after an electricity outage caused a kitchen delay. They didn’t tell us what was going on, and being told “it’s coming” while we waited was a little off-putting. If they’d communicated, of course we would have understood. That was the only issue, the food really is delicious.

It feels magically peaceful, especially after the season ends when nobody’s around. It’s still warm enough then to enjoy the sea.
