Yunus Apart Hotel

This family-run guesthouse is very close to the sea and has its own pier, sun loungers, and umbrellas, all at no extra charge. Breakfast was included, with a good range of options and enough to satisfy us. The owners were friendly and attentive, and we were very happy with our five-night stay. Thank you to them.

The setting is peaceful, with shops nearby and the busier area still easy to reach. Breakfast was tasty and varied from day to day, and the place welcomes pets. The owners even helped us sort out parking. We stayed ten days as a family. There was a small room issue at first, but it faded from our minds after that. The room was clean and cared for, with standard, 1+1, and 2+1 options. The sea is wonderfully clear and comfortable to swim in, and you can get in from the pier just outside. There are plenty of loungers, too.

The garden is lovely, breakfast was adequate, and Mr. Yunus was helpful as soon as we arrived. The bedroom and bathroom, though, are very small. The main problem was how our request to add a third night was handled. We stayed two nights, and on arrival said we hoped to extend. Several times we were told there might be a room, but no one seemed very interested in sorting it out. When we followed up, they said another room was available for the extra day. This morning, while speaking with Ms. Hanife about moving our things, we found out it had been given to someone else. We were sent to the place next door, so in effect we were turned away. We were really unhappy. We had sightseeing planned, dinner reservations that evening, and an early departure the next morning, and suddenly had to cancel it all and leave after breakfast. It was a bad, upsetting experience. I can't say the same about his mother as I can about Mr. Yunus. Would I return or recommend it? Absolutely not.

The breakfast was fantastic, and the place was spotless. Cengo, their lovely dog, deserves a mention too. This apartment sits in a beautiful central part of Selimiye, only 12 steps from the sea. The rooms are wonderful, elegant, and clean. Hanife Hanım and her son deserve congratulations. Their being locals from Selimiye is a real plus. It's an apartment everyone should see, and I hope we'll meet again next year.
