Palm D'Or

The buffet meals were amazing, and the stay was great value for money. The room was pleasant and clean, with a comfortable bed, and the beach was close by. I loved this place and highly recommend it. I’ll be back.

We’ve just left Palm d'Or after a lovely stay. The hotel has had a refurb, with fresh paint, redone bathrooms, new air conditioning, and new beds with brand-new sheets. The food was fantastic and really fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful, even though they didn’t speak much English. It was very quiet while we were there, with only about 12 guests. That suited us well. The beach was a ten-minute walk, and the shops and bars were about five minutes away. I’d definitely recommend it and hope to return later in the year.

We’re staying here now, and it’s been a very bad hotel experience. The staff are unfriendly, and the slides shut in the afternoon. They promise mountains of gold, but there’s nothing there: no fitness room, no disco, and the playground is overgrown with weeds. The food is the same every day and doesn’t feel European at all. The pool closes at 7:30pm, and guests are sent out. Late breakfast is meant to run until 11:30, but by 10 everything is gone and closed. Around meal closing time, staff make a lot of noise and turn off the lights. We tried to shower but had no hot water. Reception said we’d have to wait an hour because they were too busy. That’s really not acceptable.

This is a very poor choice if you want an all-inclusive hotel. The food options are limited, there are no snacks despite what the information sheet says, and drinks are restricted. Only one of the three bars is operating, with lager, vodka, gin, whisky, cola or Sprite. Cocktails aren’t included and cost £5.20 each, and they aren’t made with proper fresh fruit juice. WiFi isn’t included in the rooms or around the hotel. The only free connection is in the lobby, where the air conditioning doesn’t work. The pool gets too hot because the water isn’t refreshed, and there isn’t enough chlorine. There’s no fitness area, the health spa is closed, and none of the shops are open. The hotel needs a lot of investment. It’s supposedly a four-star place, but it certainly doesn’t feel like one. The staff work hard, but don’t speak any English. I understand they work around 60 hours a week and earn 20,000tl a month, about £463, which is a joke.
