The location made getting to the main sights, shops, and restaurants easy, and breakfast on the 7th floor was a real bright spot: plenty of cheese, jam, bread, and salad, plus a nice city view. It starts at 07:30. The rooms were reasonably clean apart from a dirty carpet, though they felt dated and mine smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The street-facing window also opened much too far, which seemed like a serious safety risk for a small child. The WiFi was extremely poor. Check-in was frustrating on both of my two non-consecutive stays in the same week. The desk clerk had printed both hotels.com confirmations and seemed confused that the bookings weren't consecutive. I explained, and he charged me for both. When I checked out the next morning, he was still confused, and his manner on my second stay wasn't welcoming.

The room looked clean, but I found a cockroach in the toilet. It was freezing because the air conditioner didn't work properly and the heater wasn't working either. I was told breakfast ran until 12, so I arrived at 11:30, only to be told the restaurant was closed. I'd suggest finding another hotel.

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the hotel is centrally located near the historical sites. But the lobby and rooms had a heavy cigarette smell that stayed even with the ventilation on. I also found stains on the sheets, and hygiene overall seemed somewhat poor.

I was happy with how clean the place was and how friendly the staff were during my three-night stay. The big issue was Room 205, which absolutely reeked of nicotine. The room and curtains were clean, but the smoke seemed to have soaked into the wallpaper, carpet, and solid wood furniture. I couldn't sleep the first night, and my throat burned the whole time. Luckily, I'd brought incense sticks, which helped me get through the next two nights.

I picked it mainly for the location, close to the square, museums, and historical sites. It's not a luxury hotel, so keep expectations modest, but the location makes it a practical choice. I was there for one night and loud music nearby went on until 3 am, so I couldn't sleep. Breakfast and cleanliness were average. Taken together, it's a decent place to stay.
