Old Doğanbey was so peaceful when I visited in December. I wandered around the historic village among all the charming cats, with mild, pleasant weather for exploring. At Samoa Cafe I had eggplant gözleme and a calming cup of tea. It was a lovely way to take in the quiet atmosphere.

Spring is a great time to explore Doğanbey Village. It's comfortable for walking then, and the colorful flowers make the place and photos even prettier. Wear trainers or hiking boots for the cobbled streets. You can stop at one of the cafés for the views, or pick up ice cream or homemade goods from the stalls. Among the newer stone houses and Pansiyons, old stone ruins from earlier homes are still standing, which adds another layer to a visit.

A small tea and coffee house is here, and there's also a museum at the village entrance. It displays mummified wild animals that once lived around Didim, in the two-story building that used to be the village hospital. Doğanbey is another place worth visiting around Didim Muğla. It’s an old, abandoned Greek village, with some stone houses restored and others left in ruins. The photos explain it better than I can. Take care on the dirt road leading there. Enjoy.

It was quiet when we visited, so we could walk around without crowds. The village has a small museum, a tea house, and a few artisan shops. It was nice to stroll through, get a sense of the history, and see abandoned houses being rebuilt as the village comes back to life.

The blooming trees and distinctive-looking houses make this place feel like a movie set, and the location is great. I think it's underrated. A couple of fine dining restaurants here could do really well.
