Sv Business Diyarbakir Hotel

The location works really well for visiting the Diyarbakir walls. I enjoyed my one-day stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was warm and cosy, though the bathrooms could use renovation.

Getting in meant climbing big steps at the front door, which was difficult for me as a disabled person. The beds were firm but comfortable, and breakfast was good, with plenty of fruit and different Turkish options. There were lots of staff around reception, though sadly few spoke English or another Western European language. I wouldn't have stayed a second night. The rooms were grubby, with a shower that clearly hadn't been cleaned for months, soap residue, dirt and hair everywhere, old, ragged towels, and barely any toilet paper left. Asking staff questions also seemed like too much trouble. Men checking in seemed to get better service, though that may just have been my experience or a regional factor.

The location is really good, and there are lots of parking places nearby, though the hotel itself has no parking. The price was a little high. Being near kebap shops means the lower floors smell of them. Still, not bad.

I didn't feel there was any safety at all. When someone in our group was injured, we called staff twice and explained it was an emergency, but they took 30 minutes to come. It felt like no one would come even if you were dying. The bathroom had no safety either, and the hotel slippers were such poor quality that using them with wet feet could make you fall. The staff seemed to care about money more than humanity, and had no ethics in conversation. This should be a one-star hotel, not four.
