A really nice spot for an early morning walk.

The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Each room had a portable air conditioner, too. The old-fashioned building was beautifully designed, and sitting on the balcony, chatting beneath the trees and moon, was such a lovely part of the stay. Waking up to rain made it even nicer. We came to Tekirdağ for a friend's wedding and looked at several hotels, including Çalıkuşu, before choosing this one. We loved it and were so glad we got to meet such wonderful people. Hüseyin and the other gentlemen were always smiling, and their attention and conversation alone made us feel well looked after. After our stay, we had coffee and they drove us to the bus station. If I return, I'll stay here again. You're wonderful people, and I'm so glad we met you. It was a really enjoyable stay. Don't bother looking elsewhere, you won't be disappointed.

Hüseyin really fits the character of this place. He showed us the mansions' history, told us about the mulberry tree that fell in the garden of Feride's aunt's mansion, and showed us the house where Reşat Nuri Güntekin was born. Çalıkuşu is made up of five connected historic mansions in central Tekirdağ, with easy access, and operates as a boutique hotel and restaurant. Mansion No. 5 has the best sea view, while the others have partial views too. The restaurant and garden are both beautiful and distinctive. The tables are made from quality wood, and the garden lights make the trees look like they're dancing. If you're after a place where history, experience, and quality come together, Tekirdağ is worth visiting. I recommend the Çalıkuşu kebab.
