Rai Premium Tekirova Hotel

The food was a real highlight, with plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, and bread at all three meals. The café had nice coffee, ice cream, and cakes too, though I wasn't keen on the outdoor snack area with birds wandering around the food. We also enjoyed the heated pool, the aquapark, the amphitheatre shows, and the free Wi-Fi. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the minibar was topped up every couple of days. We were there for a week in May with my wife, our 10-year-old daughter, and friends who also had children. The hotel looks modern and elegant, and the grounds are well kept. Our room was comfortable, with a good bed and pillows, but the balcony furniture was old and damaged. Housekeeping was a bigger problem: toilet paper and soap weren't reliably replaced, and the room wasn't cleaned properly. We had to raise it with reception. The beach had plenty of loungers and decent shade, but it was stony and rather small. Some of the wooden paths and the pier looked worn. The cocktails were another letdown. They were made inconsistently and often didn't match the menu, despite the hotel having decent branded spirits and soft drinks. Communication was frustrating. The place clearly caters to Russian-speaking guests, and while most staff were friendly and willing to help, English was very limited, even for simple orders. One morning we finally found loungers together by the main pool, which usually filled quickly. At about 11:45, a staff member told us to leave because there was going to be a pool party. Nobody had warned us in advance that we would need to move, and there was no alternative spot offered. By then the other loungers were taken, so we had to pack up and search in the middle of the day. Events should be explained early enough for guests to plan. There are plenty of good points here, but the cleaning, language barrier, cocktails, and pool arrangements brought it down to a 3/5 for me. I'd recommend it only if those issues aren't a concern for you.
