I’m attaching a screenshot of our conversation showing that I went there on August 12. You agreed to early check-in because I asked whether it was possible, rather than just showing up. And you didn’t offer me another option. Agoda rebooked me at a different hotel because my claim was correct. Please learn to accept criticism and own your mistakes so you can do better next time. I booked through Agoda, which clearly listed check-in as starting at 00:00. That unusual time worked for me because my flight was due to land in Trabzon at 2:45 AM. To confirm, I emailed the hotel about early check-in. They replied quickly with the receptionist’s WhatsApp number. I messaged him that I’d arrive around 3 AM and asked if that was okay, given the listed midnight check-in. He said there’d be no problem and that he would be there to receive me. It all seemed fine until I got there. As a woman traveling alone, dragging my luggage through unfamiliar, steep streets in the middle of the night was stressful enough. After several calls and knocks at the door, the receptionist woke up and let me onto the porch. Then he said he thought I was coming the next day. That made no sense: I’d booked for just one night, and my messages were clear. He wouldn’t accept that leaving me alone at 3 AM in a new city was unsafe. He went back inside and left me standing outside in the dark, despite the claim of 24/7 reception. Agoda customer service quickly found me another hotel, thankfully, but this experience cast a shadow over part of my Turkey trip. I’d tell people to avoid this place, especially women traveling alone. They need to learn professionalism, honesty, and basic human decency.
