Koru Resort Hotel

Our trip was booked through "Ghair Shakl Tourism" from Jordan, and both the company and hotel were so poor that they weren't worth even one star. The room was over 30 degrees Celsius and humid because the air conditioning barely worked. Cleanliness was nonexistent: sheets weren't changed, rooms weren't cleaned, and bathroom water glasses were hand-washed then put back in a disgusting state. They also switched off the air conditioning every day while guests were out to save electricity. The breakfast was very poor, and the view was terrible. This was called a 4-star hotel, but I don't think it deserved even one. We raised our concerns about the hotel with the tourism company during the trip, and their response was very poor, unethical, and unprofessional. For God's sake, don't book with "Ghair Shakl Tourism" or stay at this hotel.

The views are the hotel's main attraction, and you might call it a resort, but the rest of the stay didn't meet the value. My room was only average in cleanliness, with leftover belongings from previous guests still there when I arrived. Housekeeping wasn't up to hotel standards: the bathroom wasn't cleaned daily, stairs stayed dirty, and tea and sugar weren't replenished. The hand soap had expired two days earlier and wasn't replaced. Blankets weren't changed every day either. When I asked, staff said they only changed them once they got dirty. I even saw black garbage bags under the blankets and wondered if that was meant as some kind of preventive measure. Breakfast was limited and the same each day, even though most guests were from the Gulf. The hall kept the parking crowded. There was no pool or other hotel amenity, just the views and a children's play area. There was no elevator, only stairs. I won't stay here again.

The location and reasonable price would bring me back. It's near the airport, Forum Market, and Trabzon Square, about 10 minutes away, and has a lovely sea view. Our suite was spacious, with a master bedroom, a living room, and another bedroom with three beds, but only one bathroom. Cleanliness was good. Breakfast was traditional but never changed: boiled eggs, dry snacks, fried potatoes, cheese rolls, one kind of fruit, either watermelon or cantaloupe, plus coffee, tea, and milk, but no juice. Service was self-service. Staff generally didn't speak much English, which made communication a bit difficult. They also wouldn't help carry our luggage to the car, so we had to take it down the stairs to the second floor despite there being no elevator. Still, yes, I'd come back for the location and fair price.

You can hear a lot between rooms since there's no soundproofing. At least breakfast doesn't change.
