Otel Tahir Aga Konagi

The sea and garden views were beautiful, and I spent two days enjoying them. Breakfast was delicious, especially the pancake with honey and syrup. The hotel is the best historical one I've seen. It was clean, and the service was kind. Thanks!

The location worked well for us, about a five-minute walk from the centre, with easy drives to sights outside the city. We could park right by the front door. The staff were nice, though communication was difficult. Laundry pricing was confusing: I was first shown one list, then a more expensive one the next morning, but the final charge was much lower than the price the young man at reception had shown me. The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable, and it was good for what we paid over our two nights. It does need repairs, though. The ceilings are peeling, some tiles are broken, and the shower leaks at the base. With a little care, it could be a beautiful place.

The room was close to both the airport and the centre, the staff were friendly, and the food wasn't bad. But the rest was a problem. The AC didn't work, and they had no fan when we asked. At 37 degrees, it felt like being in an oven. There was no room service, so we had to collect towels and clean the room ourselves. The morning staff barely spoke English, which made it hard to communicate, and the room wasn't very clean. Not worth the price. I'll never stay there again.

In September 2023, I stayed here with 12 other Iranian cycling tourists. We were given a discount and treated with a lot of respect. If I come to Trabzon again, I'll stay at this hotel.
