Turunc Resort

Ali Cafarli from the kitchen staff was so helpful and took care of everything we needed. The entertainment manager, Mahir Keser, was remarkable, friendly, and easy to approach. Service was amazing, and all the staff were super. I had such a great time here and can’t wait to come back. Five stars all round.

The beach and cove are stunning, and I’d return to Turunc in a heartbeat, but I personally wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We stayed for two weeks, from 7th to 21st May, and had a lot of mixed feelings. The baby pool was great and we spent plenty of time there, but the cover shown in the booking photos wasn’t there at all during our stay. The only shade came from the small umbrellas. The listing also showed a park on the grounds, but there wasn’t one, so there were no activities for children. The hotel felt frustrating with a buggy and family because there was only one tiny lift, which smelled damp and stagnant the whole time. Our room was okay, but small for three, and gaps in the balcony glass looked unsafe because an arm could fit through. The air conditioning wasn’t switched on until about a week in. It was hot and stuffy, and keeping my two-year-old cool was difficult. We asked repeatedly and were told it was still winter and the AC wouldn’t start until June 1st. It only came on once the hotel got busier. Most of the staff were young and didn’t speak English, so we had to use translator apps. Lunch was extremely repetitive, almost the same every day, just lamb kebab one day and chicken the next. After two weeks, nobody was choosing it. The entertainment was a letdown too, with no English music or speakers, so none of us felt encouraged to join in. I took my son to the kids’ club, but no one greeted us or smiled. They said his T-shirt cost £10, didn’t interact with him, and made him cry and want to leave when he took out some toys, even though I was putting them away as we went. It upset me, especially since it was his first holiday, because he didn’t feel included.

The beach right by the hotel is beautiful, and the facilities are wonderful. This was my second visit to Turunc resort, and I’d happily come back again and again. The staff were lovely, especially the waiters Ali Cafarli, Davut, emine, and Caner.

There’s lots of clothing storage in the large rooms, and the helpful, attentive staff made a good impression. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. I’d especially like to mention Seher from the patisserie, she’s very kind.
