The setting across from Uçhisar Castle, with a valley below, made breakfast here a lovely way to start the day. We ordered breakfast for two, but the generous portions filled me, my wife and our three children. Everything was fresh and tasty, with plenty of choice, and the service was attentive and friendly. We’re from Nevşehir originally but live in London now. We usually stay at our own house when we come on holiday, so I can’t really comment on the hotel. For breakfast, though, Hermes Cave Hotel is among the best we’ve had, probably in our top two. We left very happy and hope the quality is just as good next year, when we plan to come back.

We arrived in Cappadocia on a late afternoon flight, hungry and hoping to catch the sunset somewhere comfortable. At the Hermes Cave Hotel restaurant, we found a striking view of UchisarCastle, with the castle changing color as the sun went down. The staff welcomed us warmly, and all the dishes we tried were tasty. Murat runs the restaurant and made the meal especially enjoyable. It was our first testi kebab, served with lots of sides, and Murat presented it for us. While we ate, he also shared a lot about the region. He teaches hospitality at the university, and helped take our minds off how hungry we’d been. We enjoyed watching people try to get the perfect sunset photo, too. Everyone was kind, and Murat offered complimentary desserts and tea at the end. We’ve had excellent Turkish hospitality on our travels, and this stop lived up to those experiences. Well worth it.

The views were stunning, breakfast earned five stars, and the evening Turkish live music was romantic. Our room was clean and comfortable, the service was friendly, and the pool was a great place to cool off in the summer heat. The staff were happy to help arrange tours like balloon rides, though you may find a better price by booking directly. Great stay!

After a tiring flight to Cappadocia, we arrived to a sincere welcome at reception. Our room was clean and tidy, and the hotel's location made it easy to take hot air balloon photos without any effort. Thank you for making us feel the Turkish hospitality.
