La Casa Cave

The room’s style and layout made a good first impression, but over our three nights more problems kept showing up. The plaster on the walls in both the room and bathroom crumbled onto the floor, and nobody came to clean or replace the towels during our stay. The air conditioning didn’t work either, so they gave us a standing fan that was noisy and didn’t do much. Pretty disappointing.

The staff are really helpful and friendly. Uçhisar is such a beautiful area, and from the terrace or restaurant you can watch the balloons in the sky, including their morning launches. The views stretch from Göreme Valley to Avanos. In the evening, it’s lovely to sit with a coffee and watch the sun set.

We went in early March, and the room price was good. The hotel itself is lovely, with spacious rooms, huge beds, and working hot tubs. The restaurant has excellent food and some very good local wine, plus an amazing view. They arranged a balloon trip at a very reasonable price and helped me save some money.

We had a wonderful stay in a lovely troglodyte room with an amazing morning view of the balloons. The restaurant is very good, and if you get the chance, try the chef’s special. Even the hotel shop was friendly and helpful. A special thank you to the taxi driver, who did everything possible to get us to the airport on time. He was incredibly friendly, and you might see him at the restaurant around breakfast. Everyone was so helpful. This experience really felt like Turkish hospitality at its best.
