The cave style is a special experience, and the design concept deserves four stars from me, but the room conditions are closer to three. We were in basement 3, where the hot water took a long time to arrive. The basement areas were quite damp and had a smell. The room could use more practical touches, like somewhere in the shower to put toiletries, and the staircase could be gentler. Breakfast is served on an upper deck, with a distant view of hot air balloons. The Turkish breakfast was standard, with a decent selection of vegetables, fruit, cheeses, cake, bread, coffee, and Turkish tea. The location is about 20 km by car from the city center, and a taxi costs 500 lira one way. You need to drive yourself or come with a tour group to stay here. The staff weren’t especially friendly, though they were usually helpful with a stern expression. They don’t speak English, which made communication difficult. Overall, it was a good experience.

We booked two nights, but the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay and we were left without dry towels. The price was very high for such poor value. The rooms were humid and smelled of mildew, with mold on the walls and ceiling. People in the breakfast room were unfriendly, and the pool had only dirty rainwater in it despite the warm weather. Don’t book an underground room without a window, or you’ll have no air.

Adam, the hotel manager, looked after our whole family with such warmth and kindness. We had an excellent stay at Aladino Cave Suite, and everyone in the family enjoyed this unusual cave hotel experience. I’d definitely recommend Aladino Cave Suite to fellow travelers visiting Capadoccia. I hope you and your Indonesian wife are reunited in Turkey soon, Adam. All the best to you!

The only person who consistently checked whether we were happy was ilyas, the cook, who was always smiling. That wasn’t enough to offset the problems during our stay, including a late night party held by the owner and staff that kept us up until 2 in the morning. We also didn’t get a fair price for the downgraded rooms and compromised amenities. We were a group of nine, drawn in by the beautiful cave suite photos on the Aladino Cave Hotel website, but the real experience was nowhere close. Dust covered the hotel, and dead insects were in the rooms and kitchen. The carved cave suites felt neglected and had no proper ventilation. Humidity was so bad that the towels, bedding, and walls stayed damp, and we felt the air quality raised real health concerns. There was no central heating. Electric heaters perched on tables were an unsafe and ineffective fix, and the room turned icy as soon as they were switched off. Warm water was sporadic and brief, making the jacuzzis essentially useless. We downgraded to standard rooms to avoid exposing ourselves and our electronics to that moisture, but those rooms still had frequent hot water problems and a repugnant smell. We thought the rugs in the bedrooms might be the source, since the odor wasn’t limited to the bathrooms. Staff didn’t address it despite repeated complaints. The showers were poorly designed and flooded the bathroom more than once, and many of the hotel’s utilities were broken. Kitchen staff were generally polite, but smoked while preparing breakfast, which was unacceptable, and breakfast often came late. I initially had a positive impression of the manager, Adem, but his lack of engagement and constant excuses changed that. The indifferent attitude seemed to reflect the owner, Özgür.

Adam, the hotel manager, was super friendly and helpful, treating us like family and giving his best service during our two day stay. He also cooked the best omelette. Looking forward to staying here again next time we visit cappadocia.
