Perissia Hotel & Convention Center

For a hotel claiming five stars, the quality was very poor. The room was awful, with the carpet and walls both in bad shape and urgent renovation needed. Breakfast and dinner were overcrowded, and the service was poor too. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It’s a long way outside town, with little within walking distance. The hotel seems geared mainly toward large tour groups, and the canteen-style meals reflect that, though there’s a reasonable selection. Our room was very clean and spacious, but also quite warm, with no way to adjust the temperature. It wasn’t luxurious, though we did enjoy the spa treatments.

The food was mediocre, and the restaurant area didn’t seem very clean, which added to the feeling of neglect. I booked Perissa Otel for my Cappadocia trip because it was advertised as a five-star hotel, but the experience fell well short of that. The furniture and amenities felt dated, with a small TV and an old-fashioned telephone. The bathroom was tiny, and there were very few toiletries. The noisy, worn-out air conditioner made it hard to sleep, and there were no power outlets by the bed, which is a basic convenience. Maybe it deserved five stars thirty or forty years ago, but now it barely feels like a two-star place, perhaps three because it still has a pool and spa. I wouldn’t recommend it if you expect modern comfort or service that matches the rating. There are more beautiful places in Cappadocia.
