The setting was peaceful, and the helpful staff made our stay great. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast had plenty of choice, with extra dishes like fries or pies served each day. The ladies deserve a mention for keeping everything so clean. The room had a lovely natural feel and decor, and the rooms are named after ancient Greek gods. There were also themed rooms with indoor pools, including Venus and Poseidon. We'd definitely recommend it to friends!

Breakfast was a highlight every morning, fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was warm and attentive from the minute I arrived. Serap and Ceylan took especially good care of us. I had a fantastic stay and would gladly come back or recommend the hotel for its comfort, service, and food.

We were two friends sharing a double room. This little boutique hotel felt familiar and welcoming, with clean, spacious rooms and a modern touch. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We loved the breakfast and hospitality, and would definitely stay again.

Breakfast went well beyond what we expected, and the hotel is close to Urgup's main street, with popular restaurants and shops nearby. The owners, Samet and Omer, were generous, and they can arrange things like balloon tours and shuttles to open air museum areas. The carved rooms are unique and clean, with a comfortable bed and especially nice pillows. We slept soundly every night. The pool rooms are spacious, with a Turkish Hamam and fireplace. The staff were kind and empathetic, especially Mr.Ahmet, who made our stay extra special. We appreciated the service and will be back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

I'm writing about both CALYPSO CAVE HOTEL and KBR TRAVEL because I'm pretty sure the same people run them. I booked through an Instagram ad that made the stay sound amazing, with a pool and fireplace in the room, tours, airport transfers, and even a birthday cake included for my partner. Three days before we flew out, they said there was a problem with our room and moved us to what they called a great alternative. They never said it was a completely different hotel. We were picked up at the airport and dropped at another hotel, which left us completely confused. When I called Kübra, who had handled the booking, she said the location was right and claimed she'd told me it was a different hotel. She hadn't made that clear, or we wouldn't have been so confused. At check-in, we paid the room fee as requested. The hotel staff knew nothing about our tours, and the cake wasn't there. It only arrived after I reminded them, along with a non-alcoholic champagne to make up for the inconvenience. I spent the next three hours on the phone with Kübra and the travel agency we'd been referred to, which I strongly suspect was run by the same woman. They demanded full payment for the trip without deducting the hotel fee we'd just paid. When I explained that we'd already paid the hotel, they told me off for paying them and made me feel like nobody was in control. We felt lost and uneasy. I finally gave in and told them to go ahead with the deal because I wanted to rest and enjoy my three-day holiday, but before that I asked to cancel the tours after all the arguing and wasted time. They threatened me with a breach of contract, though there was no contract, and if there had been, they had broken it by putting us in another hotel. The tours were a joke. At places that needed at least two hours, we got 25 minutes, then were left to ourselves at the shopping stops. The guide gave basic information, while other tours seemed much more detailed. The itinerary I paid for included one more stop, but the guide said it wasn't on the agenda. I showed her the messages from the tour company and asked if we could stop there since it was just up the road. They didn't stop, and that part of the tour wasn't delivered. Afterward, the agency said the guide had told them we'd stopped there. It felt like a complete con, and I'd never want anyone else to go through it. The hotel we were moved to was smaller than the one we'd booked and had ventilation problems in its underground cave room, though the staff there did all they could to make it bearable. I wrote a separate review for that hotel. The experience has put us off Ürgüp. My advice to anyone visiting Cappadocia is to book in GOREME, which is central and lively, then arrange tours and transfers once you're there, where I think you're less likely to be conned. After I wrote this review, Calypso/KBR Travel harassed me, so I had to block them. I can't wait to forget this experience.
