Grand Hotel Van

We spent four nights here as a family. The location worked well, with lots of large stores close by and the big malls about a 16-minute walk away. You can get tea and coffee brought to your room for free. The room and bathroom were clean, though the furniture was old, and the room was noisy enough that we could easily hear people in the corridors. I'd call it an average, clean four-star hotel. Breakfast was good, but it was nearly the same every day.

The best thing was the location, very close to the city center and shopping centers. They also brought free coffee, tea, and water each day. Staff were lovely and very helpful, though they didn't speak English, only a little Farsi. The rooms were smaller than the pictures suggested and weren't as clean as I expected. Under the beds hadn't been cleaned, and there were some strange things there, which felt unpleasant. Breakfast quality was acceptable, but there wasn't much variety. The price felt high for what the hotel offered, and despite what many sites said, there was no Jacuzzi. In short, I'd call it acceptable.

The complimentary coffee and Turkish tea felt like a kind gesture. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and pleasant, just what you need for a good night's sleep when you're tired. I'll see what breakfast is like tomorrow morning and update this.

Breakfast is served on the top floor, with a nice view of the city and the lake on clear days. The hotel is right in the center of Van, but it isn't well maintained. The toilet dripped, the remote didn't work, and cleanliness was only average, with the carpet needing a better vacuum. No one spoke English.
