Saraya Bodrum Hotel

The people working here are the best I’ve come across. I’ve travelled to lots of places and stayed in plenty of hotels, but the kindness and care here made this my best hotel experience. They made me feel at home, safe, and comfortable, and they represent both the hotel and Turkish culture so well. This is my second stay, and every time I come to bodrum I’ll only stay at Saraya hotel. Thanks so much for everything, guys!

I’ve just returned from Saraya Hotel and found it really disappointing. The outside looks impressive and almost five-star, but the rooms are basic, with the shower and toilet in separate cubicles inside the room, so there’s very little privacy. Breakfast is extremely limited, basically an omelette each morning. The staff can’t speak English and weren’t very helpful, with some being rude. Our room fridge didn’t work, and we had to ask each time for toilet paper and shower gel because the room wasn’t being maintained. The gym is old-fashioned and has cobwebs around the weights. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but Yalıkavak is very quiet and has no atmosphere, in case you’re unsure about the area. I won’t be rushing back.

We left after one night, and thankfully found a proper deluxe five-star hotel on the water for not much more money. Saraya Bodrum Hotel was supposed to be five stars, but struggled to feel like two. It’s on a busy road, the rooms are below standard, and the bar and restaurant were shut when we visited. Much of the property was still a building site. The fitness room, Spa, and Sauna weren’t finished or operating, and there was dog poo scattered around the garden and pool. Our travel agent had booked us in while we were holidaying in Turkey. Please take my advice and avoid Saraya Bodrum Hotel at all cost!

The staff were relaxed and helpful, and I really liked the breakfast. A fantastic place. I’ll definitely stay here on my next visit.
