Salda Golu Celikoz Apart

We had a lovely time at this family-run place, just a stone’s throw from beautiful Salda lake. The family were super nice and made us feel at home. Our room was spotless and suited us perfectly, and for a cheap price they also offer an amazing homemade breakfast. We don’t speak much Turkish, but Google Translate worked just fine. We’d definitely stay again. Teşekkürler!

It’s hard to imagine a better start to our two weeks around Turkey. This was our first stop and, by far, the best place we stayed. The owners were warm and made us feel welcome right away. Even with the language barrier, the atmosphere made us comfortable, and the reservation and everything else went smoothly. And my god, the breakfast was wonderful! Don’t hesitate to come, you won’t regret it.

The village is very quiet, with fresh air from the pine forests outside it, and you can see lavender fields nearby. On a sunny day, Salda lake is incredibly picturesque, with turquoise water. Doganbaba beach is 5km away and must be seen. Just be aware that there are some fairly large stray dogs in the village, a problem found all over Turkey. There aren’t casual cafes here, and no pumpkin latte. Swimming in the lake is prohibited, though people seem to do it a little. Bring water shoes or crocs if you swim. It’s easy to reach from Denizli bus station or Yeni otogar, with the trip to Salda taking 1.5-2 hours. Take the Yeshilova tur bus from station 34 on the lower floor. I’d suggest spending at least a full 24 hours in this real village to rest and get away from noisy cities. The owners are very kind, the rooms are cozy and clean, and the price is reasonable. Hot water had good pressure, the toilet was great, and the Turkish breakfast, kahvalti, was good too.

The place was wonderful, and the family made us feel at home. There were four of us, including two children, and they gave us a two-room apartment, so we were comfortable. It was clean and had everything we needed. Thank you!
