Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort - Adults Only

La Grand saved our weekend after an Airbnb let us down badly. I called right after leaving that booking, and they had rooms available. The front desk staff were warm and gave us complimentary welcome drinks and birthday cake for our birthday weekend. The room was very clean and smelled great. I liked the craftsmanship in the decor, especially the wooden accents, though the washbasin and vanity could use an upgrade. The ocean view was lovely, but the breakfast was the highlight for me. The continental and local options were varied and well prepared, and I couldn't get enough. The hotel could use some work, but I'd definitely stay again.

The beach is beautiful, calm and good for swimming, just across the road. The pool and lobby were well maintained, and there were very few guests. The front desk responded quickly to our needs and changed our room promptly. Breakfast was tasty with a good range, and most days the breakfast staff were pleasant, efficient and on time. But Le Grand Courlan feels run down and barely maintained. Our first room had a front door that wouldn't lock, broken AC and an adjoining door that wouldn't lock, so we had to move. There's no tap or hose to rinse sand off your feet, so it comes back to the room with you. The shower floods the entire bathroom every time, creating a slipping hazard. The place could be much better, but in its current state I wouldn't stay again.

This was my second visit to La Grand Courlan Hotel in Tobago, and I love the staff, especially Keon. He's extremely pleasant and great with customer service. Keon made this family visit even better than the last one. I strongly recommend La Grand Courlan because of the staff, and Keon in particular, who's a perfect service provider.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the room was very clean. We stayed two nights at Le Grand Courlan. The pool area had a scenic look, but the pond that was supposed to have fish was unsightly and covered in moss. The breakfast was tasty, traditional local food and satisfactory, though it could have offered more variety. The TV wouldn't connect to Wi-Fi, and neither would our laptops from the rooms. The front desk suggested using the lobby for better service. I expected a better experience overall, though it was still a good one.
