The free shuttle to the airport and Pigeon Point is handy, and the beach nearby is beautiful. There are also better food options within walking distance. Breakfast was a disappointment when I went on Thursday morning. It wasn't worth describing, honestly. If a good breakfast matters to you, don't stay here. The roosters are extremely loud before sunrise, and with the paper-thin walls, I couldn't sleep past 4am. Each morning it felt like they were right inside the room, screaming before the sun was up. Light sleepers should avoid this place. It felt more like a campsite with a bar and pool, though it is near the beach.

The shuttle was one of the few good parts, with no long waits to get places. The pool was nice, and the outside of the hotel looks fantastic, as if most of the upkeep goes there. Inside, the Pond rooms need a major update. The toilet barely flushed, and turning on the shower took a lot of effort. The AC remote acted up every day. Staff fixed it, but the problem kept returning. The pillows were the flattest I've ever encountered, so I slept badly. I wanted tea, but the kettle was dirty and put me off immediately. Only a small portion of staff were friendly or helpful. One restaurant staff member seemed annoyed by every basic request. Lunch and breakfast lacked flavour. I was surprised by what the hotel offered, and I definitely won't return. A three-star rating seems about right.

The beach shuttle made for a wonderful time, and the place was clean with good food. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, kind and professional. From making the reservation until we left, we were well looked after during our overnight stay at Shepherds Inn. Special thanks to Mr Keon, Ms Audrey, Chef Candy, Karen in the restaurant, and the Front desk staff. They all took excellent care of my sisters and me. The customer service was awesome. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. We highly recommend this place.

We loved the gardens, which are well kept, and if you take time to sit, listen and look, there's an amazing variety of birds. For anyone interested in Tobago's flora and fauna, I highly recommend the 'resident' Nature Guide, Peter Cox, for an informative day out. The pool next door has loungers and is a great place to relax. A free daily shuttle runs to and from Pigeon Point beach, and reception can arrange bike and car hire. The restaurant has a good menu and well-stocked bar, with excellent cocktails. Breakfast changed from day to day. We were there for two weeks, and the staff were so friendly they became like friends and family. Nothing was too much trouble, so saying goodbye was sad. The hotel is kept to a high standard, and our rooms were cleaned immaculately every day. It can cater to all your needs, and I highly recommend it.
